Death Saves

By default, a character takes Damage on their Aspect’s HP and when they are out of HP on all their Aspects, they are immediately taken out and must mark an Aspect as Broken if they survive.

This extra is to add a element of chance to death.

Rule

Damage: When a character takes a number of Damage from threats or attacks, they lose that many HP, distributed on their Aspects as they choose. Aspects at 0 HP are unusable. If all Aspects reach 0 HP, the player makes a Death Save.

Death Save: When a player makes a Death Save, they start a pool made of 1d6 per Aspect they have. They then roll the pool and remove all dice that did not yield a hit, up to a maximum of two dice.

  • If emptied: They are taken out and will die within the hour unless helped. If they survive, one Aspect becomes broken.
  • Or else: They survive, and the number of and the leftover dice set the new size of the Pool for the next roll.

If the player receives Damage after the Death Save, they roll the Death Save again with the new size of the Pool.
